Project Summary:
Our first Malawi well was installed at TCI Africa’s new property outside of the capital city of Lilongwe. The hand pump well replaced the crude hand dug well. Since its construction it has allowed for the construction of new clean latrines. In October 2011 the church will move to the property and the well will be a much-needed supply of clean water for the church and its members. The property will also be developed with a children’s feeding center, a community center, and a small orphanage. All of which will be using this water well for their construction as well as a fresh water access point for all who use the property. This well will serve an estimated 1000 people in a country that is ranked as one of the world’s poorest. The majority of families around this well make daily walks to water holes or government water stations where they spend around 10% of their daily pay to buy a bucket of water.
